Integrated Municipal Decision Support Platform
General Information and Introduction
The aim of establishing the Integrated Municipal Decision Support Platform (hereinafter referred to as the Platform) is to create a user-friendly interface where Hungarian and international tools, databases, systems, professional materials and good practices related to water management and climate change adaptation are available in one place. We aim to share useful information, up-to-date data and innovative solutions that can be applied both in everyday work and in the implementation of short-, medium- and long-term strategic objectives, supporting municipal decision preparation and decision-making.
Through these resources, we aim to support the work of Hungarian municipalities by providing access to thematically organised tools and databases that can effectively assist them in their planning tasks, the future development plans and directions of their settlements, as well as in reducing their vulnerability to climate change.
The databases and tools available on the Platform always redirect users to existing external interfaces. The information sheets prepared for these resources provide an overview of their general characteristics, as well as useful information on how they can be used. We hope that visitors to the site — not only municipal professionals — will find information and tools that provide new knowledge and support them in carrying out their tasks more effectively, adapting to the impacts of climate change, and preventing or mitigating its negative effects.
The content of the Platform is continuously updated, with the aim of making new information and knowledge available to a wider audience, while also supporting the development and expansion of knowledge that has already been acquired.
A general information on the content and use of the Platform
The tools, databases and professional materials available on the site are organised into 6 main categories, as follows:
- climate protection
- urban development
- nature-based solutions (NbS)
- ecosystems
- water management
- green infrastructure
In some cases, an individual tool or database may belong to more than one category. Therefore, such resources are listed not only in one section, but under all relevant main categories according to their thematic focus.
Within the thematic groups, the databases, tools and professional documents can be accessed by clicking on their logos. The list of available databases and tools can also be found at the end of each thematic group page in a table of contents, where they are presented in alphabetical order as a list.
For each tool, database and system available on the Platform, a detailed information sheet has been prepared, containing the most important information about its content and operation. These information sheets can be accessed under the individual categories by clicking on the name of the respective tool or database, or on its name in the table of contents. To facilitate the interpretation of the information sheets, the schematic diagram below provides a brief overview of their content and structure.
The information sheets contain active links to the relevant resources, including the web address of the tool or database, the contact details of its operator or maintainer, the registration interface where registration is required, and, where available, the user manual. By clicking on these links, users can directly access the relevant database or tool and obtain the additional information described above.
The aim of establishing the Platform is to collect, on a common interface, as many Hungarian and international tools, databases, good practices and professional materials related to water management and adaptation to climate change as possible.
The content of the Platform is continuously updated. Therefore, if you would like to suggest adding a tool, database, good practice or other professional document that is not yet available on the Platform, or if you have any further suggestions or additions, please submit your comments and suggestions to us via the form at the bottom of the page.
