VÍZTÜKÖR WEBSITE – PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION
The Víztükör online platform is the public education tool of the LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project. Through a playful and interactive approach, it draws attention to the importance of water retention, nature-based solutions, and adaptation to climate change.
The central theme of the microsite is water—specifically water retention and the possibilities of keeping water locally, along with environmentally friendly, sustainable, and low-cost implementation methods. Visitors are guided through the site by a friendly character named Csepi. Csepi, the water drop character, accompanied the communication campaigns of the LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project, visually linking the wide range of topics covered by the project.
The visual design of the microsite is friendly and inspiring, and its structure is easy to follow, addressing both younger and older audiences.

Visitors to the Víztükör website encounter various water-related challenges such as drought, water scarcity, and sudden heavy rainfall. Through interactive games, users can learn about solutions that can also be applied in real life, including rain gardens, permeable pavements, green roofs, log dams, and other nature-based water retention measures. Different types of interactive tasks—such as puzzles, quizzes, and visual challenges—help deepen the acquired knowledge.

Behind the experience of playful learning lies solid professional content. For example, the methods presented in the “Manage Water Wisely!” game are all based on real, tested solutions that were also implemented during the project. These solutions demonstrate the different yet similar water retention challenges of lowland and hilly areas. As a result, the games are not only entertaining but also credible and educational.

An interactive map allows visitors to browse nature-based water retention solutions implemented in Hungary, including the lowland and hilly pilot areas of the LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project.
Through the games, users can test their knowledge, compete with one another, and view their results after completing the challenges. This makes the platform an enjoyable activity for families and friends, while also being easily integrated into classroom education.
The environmental education tools of the LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project extend beyond the screen. A downloadable workbook and an educational support package for teachers and environmental educators are also available on the LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS website. The package includes worksheets, lesson plans, and teaching aids that support and complement environmental education in schools and kindergartens through a practical, hands-on approach.
VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE PROJECT’S PILOT AREAS
As part of the project, a Virtual Tour was created, allowing visitors to explore the interventions implemented in the pilot areas in an online format. The Virtual Tour is also hosted on the Víztükör microsite.

Within the Virtual Tour, visitors can explore both the lowland and hilly pilot areas of the project. On the opening map, users can choose between lowland and hilly regions, and then “zoom in” via 360° drone footage all the way to the specific water retention solutions. During the tour, all pilot areas and interventions of the project can be viewed, including log dams and gully stabilisation measures in hilly areas, as well as sluice-controlled canal closures in lowland regions.

As part of the Virtual Tour, the educational trails in Püspökszilágy and Kalocsa can be fully explored, including the information boards installed along the routes. In addition, visitors can gain insight into the indoor exhibition located in Püspökszilágy.
